NADSP Policy Update Regarding Federal Shutdown October 2025

by | Oct 1, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Dear Direct Support Professionals,

The government shutdown seems to be about one thing. There are some folks in Congress that want to keep the devastating cuts to Medicaid in place. Those cuts would take health care from over 10 million people and make insurance more expensive for millions more.

For now, Medicaid services will continue, so your paychecks and supports should remain unchanged. But if those cuts remain in place, families – including many direct support professionals – will unfortunately feel it immediately.

The NADSP will be working with our allies to fight for the reversal of those cuts to protect people with disabilities, their families and your families too. We will do our best to keep you informed.

With gratitude,
Joseph Macbeth
President & CEO, NADSP
