Urgent: Protect Medicaid, Protect DSP Jobs – We Need Your Voice
Dear direct support professionals,
Right now, Congress is considering a devastating $880 billion cut to Medicaid. If this happens, the impact will be immediate and catastrophic: Direct Support Professionals (DSPs will lose jobs), and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will lose the services they depend on to live safely and independently in their communities.
This threat strikes at the heart of our work—and we cannot stay silent.
Direct support professionals are the most powerful and trusted advocates to speak out against these cuts. Your voices and your stories can help protect Medicaid, preserve the rights of people with disabilities, and defend the DSP workforce.
That’s why the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) is asking for volunteers to co-write Guest Opinion columns with our staff. These Op-Eds will be submitted to local newspapers and media outlets to educate the public and put pressure on elected officials.
If you’re willing to stand up and speak out, please fill out the form linked below. For any questions related to this please email Gary Blumenthal, Senior Policy Advisor at gblumenthal@nadsp.org.
Your voice matters. Your advocacy can make the difference. Let’s raise it together.
With appreciation,
Joseph Macbeth
