Webinar: Changing the Conversation: Let’s Talk Disability and Sex
This month’s International Journal for Direct Support Professionals highlights the importance of discussing sexuality when working with youth with disabilities, including those with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Taking a holistic approach to sexuality, starting conversations early, tailoring information to their unique needs, and demonstrating a willingness to learn can all support youth to have satisfying and safe sexual lives. The goal is to empower youth with disabilities to navigate their sexuality, fostering a healthy understanding and fulfilling experiences.
NADSP Director of Educational Services, John Raffaele welcomes this month’s journal authors, Amy McPherson and Christine Provvidenza as they explore their article, “Changing the Conversation: Let’s Talk Disability and Sex.”
This webinar is a companion to the March International Journal for Direct Support Professionals issue. ASL interpretation will be available during the webinar along with closed captions.
