As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads throughout the world, news, social media and work can be overwhelming. We’ve committed to sharing resources for taking care of yourself but we’re not alone. Many of our colleagues want to share words of encouragement. Starting today, NADSP will be sharing a video from one of our partners each week with words of encouragement for Direct Support Professionals. We want you to know that as you continue your essential work in supporting people with disabilities, you are not alone and you are valued for the incredible work you do.

Last week, we shared word of encouragement from Dr. Stephen Birchak as he shared a heartfelt story of gratitude from one of his students. This week, we reached out to Dr. Craig Escudé, MD the president of HRS Inc. Along with training courses, webinars and materials, HRS is the sole developer, producer and distributor of the web-based Health Risk Screening Tool. HRST is the most widely used and validated health risk screening instrument of its kind for people with disabilities. For more information on HRS, visit their website by clicking here.

In Dr. Escudé’s video, he shares about how when he learned Direct Support Professionals and how much they impact the lives of people with disabilities to live a life of their choosing. To watch Dr. Escudé’s video click the button below.
