Webinar: Relationships and Rollercoasters, Supporting People with IDD through Relationships – A Trauma-Informed Approach

Feb 15, 2022 | Webinars

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) often experience trauma within their lives. This trauma, either significant events or smaller daily trauma, can impact a person’s ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) can assist people with IDD with building the knowledge and skills to build and maintain healthy relationships using a trauma-informed approach. This webinar will discuss practical ways DSPs can implement a trauma-informed approach to supporting people with IDD through their relationships.

This webinar is a companion to this month’s International Journal of Direct Support, written by Erick Dominguez and Heather Hermans. To read the article entitled, “Relationships and Rollercoasters, Supporting People with IDD through Relationships – A Trauma-Informed Approach”,” click here.
